I made this highly detailed “3D” shaded aerial map of the Matterhorn on the Swiss/Italian border in Photoshop. Using topographical data from a Tactical Pilot’s Chart I coloured each elevations in separate layers and blended them using a brush. adding the shading and glaciers were made using the dodge and burn tools.
This map was used as a background for a tour map for the adventure travel company Explore Worldwide.
